Liz champions her favourite takeaway

Liz McClarnon is backing her favourite takeaway, Eton Place on Woolton Road in her home city of Liverpool, in the British Takeaway Awards 2015.

“It’s one of my favourite restaurants,” says Liz.

“I go there all the time when I’m in Liverpool because it’s near my dad’s. We always loved that restaurant but I didn’t realise you could get a takeaway there”.

“One night I said to my dad ‘shall we cook or shall we just get a takeaway?’ We couldn’t be bothered so we thought we’d order something in. I went on JUST EAT and had a look at who might deliver in the area”.

“I was over the moon when I realised that Eton Place was on there”.

The British Takeaway Awards will take place on November 9 at The Savoy in London, where 250 of the most celebrated names in British takeaway food will come together to applaud the success of Britain’s best independent takeaway businesses.

Liz goes back to school…

Liz spent January back at school… cookery school that is. Four years after winning Celebrity Masterchef, Liz’s passion for cooking has gone from strength to strength, and she spent January training professionally at Ashburton Cookery School, in preparation for opening her own restaurant. Liz isn’t planning on sitting it the background either, she says “I want to do it properly – it’s not just a case of me putting my name to something. I want to be in there cooking, doing all the hard work.”

Liz presents award to Disasterchef-to-Masterchef mum

Liz recently presented Coventry mum Nikki Holmes with the award for Kenwood Chef 2013. The competition sees would-be disaster-chefs turned into master-chefs during a three month transformation.
