Following the success of Glee on TV and DVD, Glee clubs are popping up in schools around the UK. However with recent budget cuts on arts education, most UK secondary schools don’t have the facilities to allow students to express themselves through song and dance.
Glee on DVD wants to change this. In February 2011, the Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, pledged £82.5million to develop a national plan to develop greater musical education in schools, and our goal is to ensure glee clubs in secondary schools are part of this plan.
Over 500 signatures have been collected on the UK GLEE DVD Facebook page from fans across the UK and are Liz submitted the petition to 10 Downing Street on Monday, for the subject to be discussed in Parliament. Every student should have the right to express themselves through the arts and Liz wants you to help make this happen!
