Being the foodie that she is, Liz just couldn’t resist when she was asked to represent one of Kent’s newest gastro-pubs, and provide one of her own trophy winning dishes on the menu. The Kings Head in Wye has just been given a major facelift, and with it comes a brand new concept and menu. Always keen to get her chef’s whites on, Liz threw herself in at the deep end and got busy in the kitchen! Check out the full story at kentnews.co.uk
McMuffins and more with Freedom Food pork
Liz has been supporting McDonald’s this week as it becomes the first high street restaurant chain to switch to 100% Freedom Food pork from RSPCA monitored British farms across its entire UK menu.
This means you can enjoy every mouthful of your Sausage and Egg McMuffin® or even a Deli Wrap or Salad safe in the knowledge that pigs have been kept to strict RSPCA welfare standards at every stage of their lives. Freedom Food farmers who supply McDonald’s create environments for their pigs that keep them comfortable. This means providing bright, airy environments for pigs, bedded pens and plenty of space for them to move around.
Liz said: “I love to cook and always try to buy food that comes from responsible farms with high animal welfare standards, which is why I’m pleased McDonald’s is now only serving Freedom Food pork on its menu. When you see the blue and white Freedom Food label in McDonald’s restaurants, you’ll know that the sausage and bacon comes from British farms that are checked by the RSPCA.”
Head on over to whatmakesmcdonalds.co.uk where you’ll see Liz’s celebrity report as she goes behind the scenes at a British Freedom Food farm to find out why McDonald’s has decided to use Freedom Food pork across its entire UK menu.
